Meet Diana K. Floyd

Diana Floyd is the Managing Director of DKFloyd Law PLLC.

Based in New Braunfels, Texas yet covering all surrounding counties including Bexar County (San Antonio), the diverse expertise of DKFloyd Law allows it to stay Results Oriented and Client Focused.

Diana returned to Texas in 2022 to open her own firm after working in Wisconsin, Baltimore and Houston over twelve years as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Synagro Technologies, Inc. and then for Alta Resources Corp. during that period.

Her knowledge and experience have been instrumental in helping build and maintain an effective and defensible corporate compliance & ethics program at both companies.

After graduating from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Minor in Marketing, Diana worked ten years in Business Development and as a Director of Sales in Marketing in the bulk chemical and clinical laboratory industries. It was during this time she earned her law degree. This business experience allowed her to catalyze her advancement in corporate law and compliance. It’s a true art to mitigate risk in a corporate environment without shackling the business goals of sustainability and profitability. The pendulum must be kept in check and balanced.

Diana’s dedication and unwavering commitment in all she does drove her to a career in legal compliance and ethics consulting. Working with the firms of LRN and NavexGlobal, she spent ten years assisting numerous Fortune 1000 and Global 100 companies enhance their corporate compliance & ethics programs. These companies were in heavily regulated sectors such as FDA, EPA, GDPR, HITECH, HIPAA to Banking.

In 2010, Diana went “in-house” and became Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”) of Synagro Technologies while the company was in the midst of a serious investigation by a government agency. Going in-house with this role allowed Synagro to enhance its compliance & ethics program and, eventually, Synagro was absolved of any culpability. The investigation was closed. Afterward, Diana was asked to also serve as General Counsel of their largest division, and, eventually, as General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of the company. The company was Founded in 1986 and works to turn waste into worth by helping more than 1,000 municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities in North America move toward safer, cleaner and more environmentally beneficial practices.

Diana then moved to Alta Resources Corp. to attain her last position of General Counsel & CCO in 2015. She launched and built from scratch a best-in-class corporate compliance program. She thoroughly enjoys creating an effective workplace culture at companies globally. In this role at Alta, she also headed up it’s Human Resources Team and Global Information Security & Data Privacy department. Having been on the other side of the docket in defending Wrongful termination claims by past employees, she’s a persons advocate on an employee’s claim for Wrongful Termination. As a business Process Outsourcer, Alta services clients across many heavily regulated sectors in BTB and BTC transactions.

Finally, her past experience as a criminal defense lawyer has allowed her to move back into this area post corporate life which is her greatest passion. From being first chair in a certified juvenile murder trial to appeals, Diana has handled all types of defenses. Though she also has much experience with adult criminal defense, she focuses on juvenile defense. She even worked with Harris County (Houston) Juvenile Probation Department several years ago in developing a running program with Burnett-Bayland Rehabilitation Center for displaced youth. This program consisted of on campus training and at Memorial Park two days a week and then complementary enlistment in local 5Ks for the youth due to her past involvement on the Board of Houston Area Road Runners Association and closeness to the Houston running community.
